What Is Sedation?

Sedation is a process used to establish a relaxed, easy, and calm state through the use of sedatives. Sedative drugs can be administered in a variety of ways.

No matter what treatment is recommended, anxiety and fear should not be your concern. We offer different forms of sedation for patients who have concerns about being comfortable.

Sedation Methods

Prescribed Pill

A prescribed pill prior to your visit which takes the edge off and makes their treatment pass quickly and comfortably.

Nitrous Oxide

Also known as "funny gas," nitrous is an inhaled medication and provides nearly immediate relaxation. After the procedure, the gas is removed and the effects quickly reverse with no lingering side effects.

IV Sedation

Intravenous (IV) sedation - sedatives delivered via injection into the blood vessels of the hand or arm. This method provides the most effective means of controlling levels of anxiety.
